“We want to be able to bring Lollapalooza back to Grant Park this year, but we understand why things can’t go as planned,” the festival wrote on its website. “The health and safety of our fans, artists, partners, staff and the community is always our top priority.” As the Chicago Tribune points out, the festival was canceled along with a handful of other local events, such as Taste of Chicago and the Chicago Jazz Festival. Lollapalooza, which runs from July 30 to August 2, takes place at Grant Park in Chicago and generally attracts around 100,000 people each year.
